Privilege is something that some people try to avoid, including me. I come from a family that does not have any major problems. Yes, we had some economic issues when I was a child, but as I entered my teenage years, our family’s financial situation began to improve. We own a shop that generates enough money for me to pursue my Master’s degree at a private university, which is quite expensive.
I never want to continue my family business because I want to build my own path to generating income and achieving greater success. However, I just realized that my actions were driven by my ego, wanting to avoid others’ perspectives. I was afraid of being judged for using my privilege to make money, and I worried that people would say I was lucky to continue something that already existed.

This thought occurred to me while I was reading a book titled The Courage To Be Disliked, which highlights Adler's philosophy. Personally, this book struck me hard; it changed my perspective and showed how my ego affects my decisions.
I just realized that using privilege is something we need to do. We cannot choose how and where we were born, but we have choices about using our advantage and privilege, whatever it is. So why are we afraid to use our privilege? Because we are afraid of public perception and judgment. Then the choice is on us whether we want to use it or not.
